How to Use the COMAND® Mercedes-Benz Navigation System

Shop New Vehicles

The Mercedes-Benz Navigation System is part of the COMAND® infotainment system, and there is a multitude of ways to initiate turn-by-turn directions and customize your display to suit your needs. Available in most models including the E-Class sedan, you’ll find the best route possible. To enter your destination, begin by:

  • Pressing the voice activation button on your steering wheel and saying “Enter Destination”
  • Speak the address aloud when prompted, and the navigation system will confirm the address, and you can correct destination
    • If correct, say yes.
    • If incorrect, say no or “Correct street” or “Correct number” to make changes.
  • The COMAND® system will then give you audible directions to guide you to your destination (recommended over watching the visual display for your safety).

More Tools From the Mercedes-Benz Navigation System

When the car is stopped, you can use the “Navi” button located next to the touch controller to initiate instructions. From there, you can:

  • Turn the knob to select menu items for address entry on the color display
  • Some models, like the S-Class sedan, feature a keypad to make number entry easier.

You can also take advantage of various settings that suit your needs:

  • Select nearby points of interests such as fuel stations, airports, restaurants, and more
  • Choose between fast routes, live-traffic guided routes, and economical routes
  • Choose an entry from “Previous Destinations”
  • Change between a 2D or 3D view based on your personal preference
  • Download addresses from apps like Yelp and Facebook
